The Pleated Mini Skirt was inspired by my daughter's pleated mini skirt that she wore last year at her 4th Birthday Party. I wanted to create something similar but different and make it into a top instead. This pattern was created using my favourite fabric from Fabric land - cotton gauze. It has a nice drapery quality to it, which makes it perfect for creating a draped top like this. I used two fabrics together in order to achieve the look I had envisioned (the pleats).

This dress can be worn any time of the day or night! If you want to keep warm under your sweater, add a cardigan underneath! Or if you are looking to wear it out after dark, pair this with some strappy heels. You could even try pairing it with leggings, pyjamas, and pants for a cute casual outfit. Whatever your style, this dress has endless options for styling it.
